Step 1: Choose a cell

Step 2: Setup the [Conditional formating]

Command

[format]->[Conditional formatting]

Use: 

// weekday function

// daterage: A:A

// type: 2   (monday = 1)

Apply to range: A1:A1000 Format rules: Custom formula is = weekday(A:A, 2) = 1
